This is an on-line class taught via Skype.
The class includes Power Point based instruction and video taught via private Skype sessions with Chris Biro.
Discussed are selecting parrot species, caging and aviaries, the benefits and drawbacks of different food types and how to properly feed to increase motivation (no severe hunger needed), raising baby parrots, and a summary of the main principles of behavior.
When I send a baby parrot home with a new owner I always wish they knew certain things. I realized recently that some of the information I wanted new owners of my baby parrots to know has changed in recent years. This course provides the information I think every new bird owner should know so they can better raise and prepare their new bird to become an amazingly wonderful pet. It is recommended to also take the The Foundations of Behavior course to gain a more complete understanding of animal behavior.
